Logistics and transport

Every call and site visit in one place, and stalled deals back on the table

How a logistics provider brings dialer calls and site visits together in Salesforce, in Dutch and French, and reopens deals that had gone quiet.

The challenge

Inside reps qualified shippers on the dialer, field reps walked warehouses and loading docks to scope the work, and neither saw the other's conversations. Calls ran in Dutch and French, Salesforce notes were thin, and quotes that went quiet after a site visit were simply forgotten.

What they do with Drummer

  1. 1Dialer calls from the inside team land in Drummer automatically, next to the site visits field reps record with the phone app.
  2. 2Every conversation is transcribed in its own language, and the AI twin writes notes, next steps and fields back to Salesforce.
  3. 3Pipeline signals surface hidden gems: stalled quotes and lost deals in Salesforce worth reopening, with the conversation that explains why they stalled.
  4. 4The follow-up email is drafted in the language of the call and leaves from the rep's own mailbox after one click.

Why did deals fall between two teams?

Logistics sales runs on two kinds of conversation. The inside team calls shippers all day from the dialer to find out what they move, how often and where. Once there is interest, a field rep drives out to walk the warehouse, look at the loading docks and understand the flows before a quote can be priced.

Those two halves never met. The inside rep’s call lived in the dialer, the field rep’s visit lived in a notebook in the car, and Salesforce got a short line from each. Some customers spoke Dutch, others French, and notes were written in whichever language the rep preferred. When a quote went quiet, nobody had the full story to pick it up again.

How does Drummer bring the conversations together?

The inside team’s dialer calls arrive in Drummer automatically. Field reps put the Drummer phone app on the table at the start of a site visit, ask the customer’s permission and record. The app keeps going with the screen locked during the warehouse walk and uploads when the rep is back in signal range.

Every conversation is captured and transcribed in the language it was held in, Dutch or French, with the speakers separated. The rep’s AI twin turns it into a Salesforce update, the volumes, lanes, current carrier, next step and decision date, and writes it back once the rep approves. On Thursday morning, a field rep preparing a visit to a Walloon distributor reads what the inside rep heard on Monday, in one account history.

How did old deals come back?

The quiet quotes were the bigger surprise. Drummer’s pipeline signals look through Salesforce for hidden gems: quotes that stalled after a site visit and deals marked lost for reasons that no longer hold, such as a contract that was about to run out or a volume that was too small last year. Each one comes with the conversation that explains why it stopped.

The sales manager now starts the weekly review with that list. A rep reopens a stalled quote with a follow-up drafted in French by their AI twin, referring to what the customer said about their peak season, and sends it from their own mailbox after one click.

What changed for the team?

Inside and field reps work from one history per account. Managers review a site visit as easily as a phone call and leave comments on the moments that matter. And the team surfaces 2x more opportunities, many of them deals it already had. See what Drummer does for logistics and transport and field sales, or book a demo.

What changed

  • Inside and field reps work from one history per account, whoever spoke to the customer last.
  • The team surfaces 2x more opportunities, many of them deals that had already gone quiet in Salesforce.
  • French-speaking customers get their follow-up in French, the same day.
  • Managers review a site visit as easily as a phone call.
